Fugholes: some just shouldn't be dog owners...

I love animals.
I love to rescue animals.
There's something so sad about an animal that is lost or homeless.
But that excited look they get on their face when they realize you're going to take them in and give them clean water and food and maybe even a comfy couch or blankie to lay on is PRICELESS.

Well this morning, after I stumbled out of bed, made coffee and packed Larbear a lunch (yes, for some reason I really am that nice)...
I sat down on the couch to come out of my comatose fog with my delectable morning cup of coffee when Lar's mom looked out the window and casually said, "hmmm, looks like theres a stray dog in the yard."
I was out the door before she finished her sentence, trying to see if i could see it and check out if it looked friendly. (I'm not an idiot and have been raised around animals and have dealt with not so nice animals and feral animals as well...) I stood on the top of the stairs and called to it. The chocolate lab resembled closer to a little brown bear, but seemed friendly and came trotting over to say "hi."
He was REALLY excited to see me.
There was a collar with a small tag on it so i brought him up to the mudroom so I could try to contain him. I read the VERY faded tag that read "Morgan" with a phone number that was barely legible. PEOPLE IF YOU HAVE DOGS, MAKE SURE THE TAG IS LEGIBLE. IT DOES NO GOOD WHEN YOUR PRECIOUS POOCH GETS LOST IF THE TAG NAME AND/OR NUMBER CANNOT BE READ!!!!!!
After i finally deciphered the digits i called the number. No one was home, of course. So I left a nice message and left my name and number clearly (HINT HINT)...
The dogs in the house of course FREAKED out and barked like little obnoxious retards....
*SIGH*
Maybe I should invest in bark collars for the little turds....
Moving on...
I didn't know if the poor precious had eaten in the last week...so i took Morgan some puppy grub i robbed from Mystery and Sebastian's cupboard (Larbear's 'rents dogs the above mentioned retards...) along with some fresh, clean water. He gobbled the food and slurped the water right up and sat down looking very content.
I went about my morning business (applying to jobs online and getting obsessed and crazed into the addictive fb app sorority life...I really need to stop!)
Around lunchtime just as I was thinking of grabbing myself a spot of nosh (say it in your head with a british accent), the phone rang and it was the owner of poor lost Morgan, frantic, saying she'd be right over and then asking for directions.
I kept an eye out the window, but I was also in the kitchen gettin my grub on...
Only a few minutes later, I heard Lar's dad exclaim
"The dog's gone!" She came and got her and didn't even say anything...Just drove up, unhooked the thing and left!" (we had put Morgan on the dog run out back)
Now, I wasn't expecting a reward, a huge event of tears and gratitude or anything. I was however kind of expecting a knock on the door, someone telling me they were taking their dog back and honestly, i was expecting a 'thank you'. I know how i would feel if someone i didn't even know saved my dog from being turned into 'roadkill'....
The word 'Grateful' comes to mind.
I definetly would have said something and included a "thank-you"...

Apparently, Morgan's owners didnt care to be bothered with this.
I would save any animal thank-you or not, its not the animals fault or anything. But what the hell has this world come to when you can't even let someone know you're there for your dog and instead sneak around back the house, take your dog back and bolt down the driveway as fast as your crappy car can take you?!?!
HOW FREAKIN RUDE!

My Life: The Construction Zone

Okay I've been a little out of touch for months. I havent meant to be a stranger, its just that well...my blog sucks. I've tried to give it a little bit of a facelift...so let me know what you think...ill get there eventually. I've become quite frustrated with my life. I left a job, that well, wasn't my career path, was in fact, in this sorry excuse of an economy, a check-paying and in turn, bill-paying, cash-in-hand job.
Yup, one of those.
Since moving to New Hampshire, I havent had a lot of luck. I am happy to say that i just found out ( I feel like a retard for not finding this out sooner!) but New Hampshire is quite relaxed when it comes to substitute teaching. So i've signed up for several districts and am in the process of signing up for more....I plan to blanket this commuity with my availability to substitute... you will accept me in the job market New Hampshire.
I've also applied to everything under the sun, but i won't get into that right now. It frustrates me and frankly gets the obscentites rolling right out.... (several gestures come to mind, but ill stop here...)
As for the rest of my life, when im not filling out applications and doing annoying online job searches and even more embarressing and irritating, door-to-door "are you accepting applications or hiring" stop-ins, I've been helping work on my apartment. It feels like its taking forever, but honestly, its amazing at how fast things really have gotten done. What took us several weeks was leveling out the subflooring to the kitchen addition that was built while the exterior wall was still up in between the apartment and the new addition. WHAT A PAIN. But now that is done....along with 90% of the insulation, backing behind the kitchen cabinets, electrical work, plumbing in the kitchen (the bathroom still has yet to be touched)...
OHHHH we've been busy!!!!! And here is some proof!!

Here is some of the kitchen plumbing as well as the electrical work for the garbage disposal and dishwasher:

Here is some of the electrical work for the backdoor lighting, Back flood lighting, 3 way switch in the kitchen, dining room chandelier...etc :)

Some of the lighting...highhats in the kitchen/dining area:

The Kitchen and dining room, rough layout, kitchen sink cabinet is moved in front of the picture window but will not stay there, its just there for plumbing access..

View from the backdoor, the kitchen sink and cabinet will be located underneath the small window, dining room/eat-in kitchen area will be right in front of the large picture window area to the right of the picture

Large picture window and the great view of the stream and woods behind the house

The beautiful view looking out of the picture window:

We have made quite a bit of progress since these pics were taken, but i havent taken my camera up in almost two weeks! More to come I promise! I have lots of design dilemma's coming up so i'll need your help!!!!! Keep checking back..

Here's Your Sign

No...im not talking about traffic signs or astrological signs. Im of course refering the Blue Collar Comedy Headliner Bill Engvall who famously spouts off hilarious redundancies made by poor unsuspecting idiots who lack the common sense to THINK before they SPEAK.
After a day of HORRIFIC events (insert stories of dumb dogs, credit card fraud issues, student loan repayment issues and cleaning the whole house as a nice surprise to Larbear's parents before they came home from their trip)...Larbear just informed me of a couple funny stories that happened to him.
He is a native New Englander and works at a home improvement store while he goes to school...today a customer came in and asked him,
"Scuse me sir, do you carry tahps?"
"Tahps?"
"Yes, Tahps..."
To which he had to really pause before it came to his head..."Oh....taRps....!"
Gotta love the accent.
It amuses me EVERYday!

Next, which brings to me the title of this blog, walking up and down the aisles hauling big equipment and merchandise wearing his BRIGHTLY colored work attire he encountered someone that pulled him aside and asked,
"Excuse me, do you work here?"
LOL
HERE'S YOUR SIGN....
Im sure that dude sure felt like a dumba$$!
BAHAHAHA!

In other news...if you havent noticed ive been trying to figure out a new look for this blog...I'm quickly losing patience with blogger so i am considering moving to wordpress and setting up a new blog...i promise i will leave the link and keep you up to date!
KEEP READING! I promise to keep writing about all my new england adventures!

And VERY IMPORTANT! Happy Veteran's Day to all you Vets out there who have served our country! Hats off to you and thank you for your service!!!

USMC Ball 2008

So I left Michigan last Thursday, October 30th (unfourtunatly on my Bestie's birthday:( )
SORRY BESTIE!!!!
One of the biggest reason for leaving when we did was so that we could make it back in time for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball. It's a very important tradition that takes place every year on November 10. Larbear's reserve unit hosted their chapter of the Birthday Ball on the 1st of November so we hustled butt to make back in time to rest up after our long drive and get all gorgeous for the ball!!
There was a small fiasco with my dress being stuffed into my tiny red honda and having some slight creases pressed right on the a** of my dress. Thankfully one of Larbear's best friend's mom is a professional dressmaker. She saved the day and steamed my dress just in time for us to get all primped and pressed.
The ball was in the Radisson in Nashua. It was a very nice reception with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres for a couple hours then the ceremony followed by dinner and dancing.
We met a really cool couple over dinnerin a funny way. Thankfully, they had been evesdropping when they came around with dinner tickets and heard me saying something about mine being a vegetarian dish...they came around with dinner when Larbear and I were away from the table so Haley stepped in, explained that she was pretty sure i had a vegetarian dish and saved my dinner! Larbear and I spent the rest of our night exchanging stories and talking about common interests with them and I made my very first New Hampshire friend! Haley and I have plans to go shopping sometime next week where she will show me around. Her and her husband are a little new to the area as they just moved here a month ago. So im totally excited to have a new friend and go out exploring!

And of course, Larbear and I were the HOTTEST couple at the ball!!!
